Kids Alive International UK is a children’s charity largely funded by individual donations from our loyal and generous base of supporters, many of which are small amounts that collectively make a huge contribution to our work. We rely immensely on these donations and the fact that they continue to remain the core of our charity’s income is a real credit to our supporters. Over 50% of our funds are raised in this way through sponsoring our children, our homes, our classes and our care centres, and also from those giving generously to sustain our overseas workers out in the field. We are a small organisation making an immense difference, thanks to each and every donation that we receive.

 

Presentations and speaking engagements provide a reliable source of funding for Kids Alive as we are able to share the work we do to help children in crisis. We visit churches, schools and Rotarians throughout the year, spreading the news of what has been achieved in countries that are struggling to survive, as well as meeting with organisations such as Scouts, Brownies and other community groups.

 

Community fundraising events contribute to our overall income as individuals and group supporters give their time and energy to make sponsored events such as bike rides, quiz nights and canoeing a huge success. Local events held throughout the year are a strong resource that we can draw from and every little donation goes a long way to helping us change the world, one child at a time. We greatly value these events and have recently added a sponsored run, sky dive and whitewater rafting to our own list of challenges as we look forward to raising the profile of Kids Alive.

 

A further portion of our monetary income is through gifts from trusts and we are happy to receive enquiries from those wishing to support us in this way. Gift Aid is also vital for increasing our funding as we can claim a further 25% from the government from all personal donations made to us. This extra money goes a long way to helping even more children in need.
